The Waterkloof Hiking Trail snakes its way through the Moolmanshoek Private Nature Reserve which is 45 km away from Ficksburg. It is a 22km, two day hike or 33km, three day hike.
There are three trails- the Waterkloof, Sphinx and Langesnek. Combining the Waterkloof and the Sphinx gives you the three day hike. Your first night is at Langesnek Hut that is fully equipped but your accommodation for night two at Barolong Cave only has running water and a longdrop toilet. Your own equipment must be brought with.
On the list of things you will see are streams, rock formations, flowers and rock pools. You can also scale sandstone rocks, summit two mountains and lastly feel exhausted but proud of yourself after you have finished. Call Jacana Marketing for more information.
