Grand Bassin Lake (Ganga Talao) is a lake in an extinct volcanic crater, and one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage site outside of India
The lake is hugged by colourful Hindu temples and statues, and specifically a 33m-high Shiva statue marking the entrance. It is the highest known statue in Mauritius (and one of the 50 highest statues in the world).
