The 40-kilometre Serendipity Eco Trail is situated on the gorgeous Tierkloof Game Farm which covers more than 2 000 hectares of exquisite South African bushveld. There is a collection of three 4x4 trails that can be linked together or enjoyed separately. This reserve is home to a range of game species, which can be enjoyed along the way. It is situated just 25 kilometres from Modimolle, which is nestled in the scenic Waterberg District of Limpopo.
When linked together, the Serendipity Eco Trail takes about four to five hours to complete and presents some challengingly steep slopes with rocky terrain, as well as muddy areas and river crossings. This has earned it an official grading of between 3 and 5. No guide is necessary for this 4x4 trail and it can be undertaken all year round, thanks to the pleasant weather conditions of Limpopo. However, in the wet season, the water crossings do become deeper and a little more challenging.
The 4x4 trail showcases various landscapes and biomes. Drivers can look forward to traversing grassy savannahs, lush valleys and deep gorges. In addition to the game, this area also boasts a plethora of bird species that continue to lure avid birdwatchers for their variety and beauty. In addition to the Serendipity Eco Trails, there are also hiking and cycling trails as well as facilities for motorbikes and quad bikes.
