The Lookout Restaurant has one of the most spectacular views in the Sunday's River Valley. It is perched on the edge of a hillside and from which you can see the whole of the valley all the way to the Rietberg Mountains. It makes for a great family outing and even has special facilities for children.
The Lodge lies at walking distance from the Lookout restaurant and is nestled between spekboom and other indigenous flora, don’t be surprised when you meet an Impala or Gemsbok on your way.
They are renowned for their meals, hospitality and accommodation, but The Lookout is also known as a site where archaeologist dug up dinosaur fossils.
The first dinosaur fossil was found not far from Kirkwood and was named “Kirky,” by locals. (It's the size of a turkey)
