The Fort Amiel Museum, now a historical and cultural museum focusing on the two Anglo-Boer Wars, was originally a fort built in 1876 and used as a garrison for the Kings Royal regiment during the Boer War. It also served as a hospital, transit camp and depot. There is a reconstruction of the British Army Base and makes for a fascinating visit.
