2. Eden Restaurant and Coffee Shop
In the heart of the Cape Winelands, at the gateway to the "Koue Bokkeveld" and "Karoo" , lies Ceres - The Eden of the Cape.
The valley produces the finest deciduous fruit in South Africa. Also well-known for its fresh and dried fruit, fruit juices and natural spring water. First inhabited by the San and Khoi, thousands of years ago, but after the first Europeans crossed the Witzenberg Range from the Tulbagh Valley in 1729, stock farms were established.
The Ceres district consists of four diverse areas and each has its own unique charm and landscapes. Scenic mountain passes are the only gateways to the Ceres valley. During the winter months, the mountains are often covered in snow and the area has been referred to as Little Switzerland.

Eden Restaurant & Coffee Shop, situated at the end of Voortrekkerstreet, offers Breakfasts, good Coffee and delicious cake, also light lunches during the day. Pop in for a cuppa with some scones, muffins or luscious cake.

A full a la carte menu is available between 12h00 and 14h00. Entertain your business associates, while enjoying a good meal or book your business' year-end function, because we can also provide set menu's. We also offer now free Wi-fi to our clients.

4. Tolhuis Bistro
Whether you're in Ceres for the cherries at Klondyke, the snow on Matroosberg or in the Koue Bokkeveld, the big-sky beauty of the Tankwa Karoo National Park and the Cederberg or a thrill-seeking day with Ceres Zipslide Adventures, make sure you stop over at Die Tolhuis Restaurant, without doubt the coziest restaurant with the best mountain views in this corner of the Boland.

And if, like owners Reint and Karien Grobler, you swear by the wise words of Mahatma Ghandi, "there is more to life than increasing its speed," you can prepare yourself for a mouthwatering ''kuier'' that will keep you coming back for more.

In winter there is no better place than at our massive fireplace and in summer come enjoy long, lazy lunches with loved-ones under one of our shady wild olive or almond trees. While the kids enjoy themselves in our play area, enjoy a short hike up the mountain, come kloofing downhill and quench your thirst with some ''bergwater'' from the mountain stream that trickles through the property.
* We're open six days a week (except Mondays and some Christian holidays) from 08:00 to 16:00. Sundays and holidays are our busiest, so please book well in advance if you want to secure a table.

5. Klondyke Cherry Farm
Klondyke Farm is a working fruit farm with cherries, pears and apples.
We have poor cell phone reception around the farm, but you will find good signal in the driveway in front of the office where we have installed a booster aerial. We are situated at 1200 metres above sea level so summers are cooler than Ceres, and the winters are crisp.

Cherry picking: Cherry Season runs from end of November till the first week of January each year. During the season we are open 7 days a week, except closed for Christmas Day 25th December.
Trading hours are 8.30am – 4.30pm each day.
Do come and visit us and “pick-your-own” cherries on Klondyke Farm. Several varieties are available depending on the time of the season.
You are welcome to spend the day here and picnic or braai in the shade of the pine trees.
Enjoy a really fun outing with family and friends.
Remember to bring a warm top or jacket with you as the wind can be cold up here, even in summer.

8. Koelfontein Fruit and wine farm
Koelfontein has been the proud heritage of seven generations of the Conradie Family. Every person who has been fortunate enough to lay down roots on this farm is grateful for the life its soil has bestowed upon them and their families.

This is the legacy of Koelfontein farm, one which continues to sustain the lives of all who toil here in the Ceres valley to ultimately bring its bounty to other families far and wide.

Fruit farming is the central focus of our business. Our top quality fruit is distributed locally and exported to numerous foreign markets, and is cultivated for fresh consumption, canning and for sun-drying. Wine grapes are also grown on a small scale and the award-winning wines made from it are marketed under our own “Koelfontein” brand. And we have also entered the tourism market with the renovation of one of our historical farm houses, Die Kloof, which is now a self-catering cottage.
