About Alexandra

Alexandra, known as "Gomorrah" among the local residents, is one of the oldest townships in South Africa. It is the first township where the late former president Mandela stayed during the early 1940s. Its multi-cultural communities create a sense of belonging for many first-time arrivals in the city of Johannesburg.
