Souillac is a seaside village close to the southernmost point of the main island of Mauritius in the Savanne region. Batelage is the ancient port of Souillac, and the embarkment has been renovated and reconditioned to be used as a landing stage for the local fishermen's pirogues.
A famous feature is the garden overlooking the sea and named after Dr. Charles Telfair.
