The Bophirima Region is characterized by vast open spaces, kilometres of farmland, clean air, blue skies and many game viewing opportunities. Here you can reconnect with Mother Nature and embrace the stunning silence. The Taung Skull, the missing link between man and ape was discovered here too.
Situated in the western region of the North West Province at 1200m above sea level, Bophirima is hot, sunny and dry. It is predominately a farming and mining area, earning it the title of the Texas of South Africa. With some of the largest cattle herds in the world it should come as no surprise that beef is their main produce. In fact the amount of cows in this region far outweighs the number of people who live here.
So if you get on better with animals rather than people you will have an excellent time here. Coming close second is the maize farms, accounting for a third of South Africas maize production. The game viewing in the area is phenomenal as the animals can be spotted from a mile away owing to the Savannah bushveld that is home to lion, buffalo and rhino.
