About Burnedale Centre & Pottery Gallery

Burnedale Centre & Pottery Gallery is named after John Burne who in 1841 at just 16 years of age joined the 82nd Foot Connaught Rangers Regiment. In 1850 he was stationed in Umhlali and he also married Isobella. He served 21 years and received his Good Conduct Medal and a pension of 50 pounds per annum. He moved to the current Burndale site in 1862 and built his home here where he remained until his death in 1905. The original house stood until the 1970's when it was demolished and then rebuilt as it is today.

A place the whole family can enjoy, test your creativity, purchase from the store and enjoy a meal.
