About Glendower Golf Club

Glendower is an exquisitely designed, parkland course that is considered one of the top golf courses in South Africa. In 1973 the club was proclaimed a nature reserve in order to preserve the excellent bird-life that is to be found on the course.

Glendower Golf Club dates back to 1935 and has played host to numerous top tournaments as well as many of the world's top golfers. The first big tournament it hosted in 1939 was won by the legendary Bobby Locke and it is the current host of the South African Open - the second oldest Open golf tournament in the world after the British Open.

Glendower boasts lovely kikuyu fairways with 64 bunkers and water hazards on 11 of the 18 holes. The golf course is a par 72. The club has excellent practise facilities and offers a true golfing challenge where accuracy is the key.
