The Dundee Heritage Trail begins at the Garden of Remembrance opposite the Royal Hotel. This memorial commemorates the town’s menfolk who gave their lives during WW1. The walk also takes in the Royal Hotel itself whose facade is reminiscent of the Tudor Age, the Dundee Adult Centre, the Methodist Church, the Enterprise Building, the Court House and St James Anglican Church. This is an ideal way to absorb all of Dundee’s varied history.
Wrestling fans will be glad to know that Dundee is the home of the Northern Natal Rhinos Wrestling Club, one of the top wrestling clubs in the province. Other sporting enthusiasts would be interested in the various rugby clubs, such as Sentraal Rugby Club, Titans Rugby Club and Rhino Women’s Rugby Club, who are responsible for producing many provincial rugby players.
Dundee is also home to the Indlovu brewery, a hidden gem which produces local sorghum beer; this is a must for any traveller seeking an authentic experience. The brewery produces up to 85 000 litres a day!
