About Port Alfred

Port Alfred used to be a coastal backwater despite having the climate, the water, the beaches and the historical connections, but the past few years has seen it catch up with the modern world. You can now shop to your heart’s content in the new shopping malls, as well as spoil yourself at some of the decadent spas, take on your mates at the Royal Port Alfred golf course, enjoy the views over the small-boat harbour or indulge your ultimate flying fantasy at the 43 Air School - a world-class training facility for pilots and air traffic controllers.

The Royal Alfred Marina is one of only a few in the world where every home owner has private water frontage and a personal jetty – what’s not to love? Visitors are treated to boat cruises through the marina canals and, for those with loads of energy to spare, why don’t you think about hiring a pedalo or canoe to navigate the calm waters?
